Mechartes collaborated with the client to carry out CFD Analysis to verify the precision air conditioning for the data hall. The CFD Analysis conducted for the data hall included scenarios like normal operation, failure modes, and transient studies. Specifically, after finalizing the design, a transient study was performed considering scenarios such as the chiller being off or failing for 3 minutes while the chilled water pumps and fan wall units continued running on Mech-UPS power. This analysis aimed to assess how long it took to reach the desired temperature under these conditions.

The results of the CFD analysis were successful, showing that the systems operated without hotspots and maintained temperatures within ASHRAE recommended ranges. This comprehensive approach ensured that the data hall’s cooling systems could handle various operational scenarios effectively.
