DU, also known as Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, is a major telecommunications provider in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), offering mobile and fixed-line telephony, broadband internet, and digital television services. They operate several data centers across the UAE, supporting their network infrastructure and services.

DU’s data centers are crucial for maintaining the reliability and performance of their telecommunications services, including data storage, processing, and distribution.

DU operates multiple facilities across the UAE and was interested in exploring the possibility of increasing the load capacity of its data centers. Their primary concern was to evaluate whether the current HVAC designs, initially configured for lower loads, could effectively accommodate higher operational demands. To address this challenge, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis was employed as a tool to simulate and analyze various heat load scenarios using the existing HVAC configurations.

The study focused on determining the maximum load capacity that the current HVAC systems could reliably support. By conducting extensive CFD simulations across multiple DU facilities, the analysis provided insights into the performance limitations and identified areas where design enhancements would be necessary to optimize the system for increased loads.

This approach enabled the team to deliver specific recommendations on modifications and improvements needed to ensure the HVAC systems could handle higher operational demands efficiently and sustainably.

Ultimately, the comprehensive CFD analysis not only assessed the feasibility of increasing data center loads but also provided DU with actionable insights to enhance the reliability and performance of their HVAC infrastructure across their facilities in the UAE.
