Damac Properties, known for its real estate developments, also has a dedicated data center division. Their data centers support various infrastructure needs, potentially including hosting and cloud services, ensuring robust IT operations for their real estate projects and potentially offering services to external clients as well.

The project comprised three buildings housing chillers, generators, transformers, DOAs (Direct Outside Air units), and FAHU (Fan Air Handling Units) for cooling and emergency power supply.  Mechartes was tasked with conducting comprehensive CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analyses. The primary goal was to evaluate the thermal and flow performance of all the equipment across all three buildings and assess the potential impact of pollutant emissions, such as NOx and SOx, from the generators on nearby schools and residential buildings.

The project began with a thorough wind assessment using IWEC2 weather data specific to Dubai, identifying predominant wind directions and potential plume paths towards adjacent areas. Multiple CFD studies were subsequently carried out to optimize the mechanical units’ performance and devise solutions to mitigate pollutant dispersion toward nearby pedestrian areas. These analyses aimed to ensure both efficient operation of the data center equipment and minimal environmental impact on the surrounding community.
