Location: Doha, Qatar
Scope
Acoustic analysis is done to study and optimize the sound level at different octave bands.
Mechartes International FZC was awarded the project to perform acoustic analysis for Qatar Petroleum District, Doha to investigate noise maps and sound decibel levels.
The objective of acoustic analysis was to study the noise mapping levels for complete building and to select suitable sound attenuators which could be capable of reducing sound level within acceptable range. Acoustic study was done considering all fresh air fans and extract fans/smoke extract fans. All 9 towers, Hotel Tower, Energy center and parking building were considered in this study. All towers were modelled from basement level till roof levels.
Modelling & Analysis
Acoustic solutions have been provided for airborne noise, structure borne noise, break in and break-out noise generated due to fresh air fans and smoke extract fans. Insertion losses for sound attenuators and other acoustic solutions were provided based on acoustic analysis results. Analysis was done to study sound level of chillers, pumps, cooling towers, AHUs, Fans and many other different equipment’s.
Outputs
The acoustic analysis study has been conducted using I-SIMPA Acoustic Analysis software by SPPS method. Guidelines given in AHRI Standard 885, ASHRAE Standards and NC criteria have been followed for acoustic simulation Acoustic design has been provided to achieve acceptable criteria of 55dBA as per Qatar Noise Act
