Objective:
Main objective is to design TES tank and tank internals to withstand wind and seismic loads.
Design Approach:
The TES Tank are provided with two (2) radial type diffusers and connecting pipes with chilled water nozzles as per process requirements. The radial diffusers are constructed with plates and are used to guide the flow inside the TES Tank uniformly. One of the radial type diffuser is located on top of the tank and other is located close to the bottom plate.
The design of the tank for wind and seismic conditions, nozzle design calculations and tank internals design calculations have been carried out. The seismic and wind loads have been calculated by method of analysis proposed in AWWA-D100.
Conclusion:
Calculations have been carried out for structural designing of TES Tank, nozzle and tank internals. Tank is stable against sliding. No additional shear resistance is required. Nozzles are stress relieved as per standard. 12 number of 42 mm diameter anchor bolts are suggested.
