Main objective of this static and dynamic analysis of a sub-structure jacket supporting an offshore wind turbine is to determine the displacement which will occur if the structure is used for 100 years.
A finite element analysis is carried out under different types of wave loading; these are hydrodynamic loadings, dead & live loads and wind loads. For the present analysis, dead loads include all fixed items in the platform deck, jacket, and bridge structures. Live loads are defined as movable loads and will be temporary in nature.
Due to the static loads, the maximum displacement found at the top of the tower is 0.45 m which is within a safe limit.
In the dynamic analysis, the maximum displacement at the top of the tower with both wave and wind together is found to be 0.68 m during the transient state and 0.5 m during the steady state.
