Discovered in September 2021 in Côte d’Ivoire, the Baleine field began production on August 27, 2023, setting a record in the global oil industry. With a total estimated investment of 10 billion US dollars, this project is poised to have a lasting impact on the Ivorian economy.

The project engineering team engaged Mechartes to conduct Pulsation and Mechanical Vibration Analysis in accordance with API 618 standards for four reciprocating compressors, with three in operation and one on standby.

Each compressor is a 4-throw, 3-stage reciprocating compressor. The analysis covered pulsation analysis for suction, interstage, and discharge pipelines connected to the compressors. Following the analysis, design modifications were recommended, including adjustments to pulsation dampener volumes, orifice plates, and pipe supports.

Additionally, pipe stress analysis was performed on the connected piping network to determine suitable support types and locations. Torsional analysis was also conducted as part of the project scope.
